DEMETER ENERGY ENGAGES CLARKSONS TO PROVIDE BROKERAGE AND COMMERCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES FOR BIOMETHANOL SALES

Definitive agreement brings Clarksons’ global maritime and commercial expertise to the marketing and sale of approximately 100,000 metric tons per year of low-carbon biomethanol from Demeter Energy’s SeaPort Manatee Florida project

MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA – November 3, 2026 – Demeter Energy today announced that it has entered into a definitive services agreement with Clarksons Norway AS to provide commercial advisory and brokerage services supporting the marketing, sale and offtake of approximately 100,000 metric tons per year of low-carbon biomethanol from Demeter Energy’s planned commercial-scale biomethanol and carbon capture facility at SeaPort Manatee, Bradenton, Florida in Manatee County Florida.

Under the agreement, Clarksons will provide commercial market intelligence, pricing and freight analysis, regulatory guidance, introductions to prospective buyers and logistics counterparties, and broking and negotiation support for commercial transactions involving Demeter Energy’s low-carbon products.

“This agreement with Clarksons represents an important step in the commercial development of our SeaPort Manatee project,” said Thomas Walklett, Chief Executive Officer of Demeter Energy. “Clarksons brings extensive knowledge of global shipping, marine fuels and international commodity markets, together with relationships across the maritime sector. Their expertise will strengthen our ability to engage prospective customers and establish long-term offtake relationships for Demeter’s low-carbon biomethanol.”

Expanding Global Market Access

Clarksons’ engagement provides Demeter Energy with commercial expertise across global maritime and low-carbon fuel markets. The scope includes FOB versus delivered-price benchmarking, freight-cost modeling across relevant trade corridors, market intelligence regarding prospective buyers and commercial structures, and regulatory monitoring covering FuelEU Maritime, the IMO Net Zero Framework, RED III and the EU Emissions Trading System.

Clarksons will also facilitate introductions to shipowners, traders and logistics counterparties through its global network and provide broking and negotiation support for the marketing, sale and offtake of Demeter Energy’s low-carbon products.

“The maritime industry’s transition toward lower-carbon fuels is creating growing interest in scalable, credible sources of low-carbon methanol,” said Halvor Naess, Divisional Director for Specialised Products at Clarksons. “We look forward to working with Demeter Energy to support the commercial development of the SeaPort Manatee project and connect its planned biomethanol production with customers across the global shipping and energy markets.”

Through a number of dedicated verticals, Clarksons’ commitment to decarbonizing the maritime sector is underpinned by a combination of broking expertise and wider global capabilities in renewable energy, LCO₂ and greener shipping advisory, delivering market-leading insight and specialist support.

Advancing Toward Final Investment Decision

The Clarksons agreement represents another key commercial milestone as Demeter Energy advances engineering, permitting, feedstock procurement, logistics planning, financing and product offtake activities for the SeaPort Manatee project.

Demeter Energy’s planned facility is being developed to produce approximately 100,000 metric tons of low-carbon biomethanol annually, while enabling the capture and permanent sequestration of approximately 200,000 metric tons of biogenic carbon dioxide per year.

The project is designed to serve growing demand for low-carbon marine fuels, sustainable aviation fuel feedstocks and low-carbon chemical products. Its location at SeaPort Manatee provides strategic access to transportation infrastructure, regional biomass resources and domestic and international markets.

Demeter Energy continues to advance the project toward Final Investment Decision as the first commercial-scale development within its strategy to establish a broader low-carbon biomethanol and carbon management platform across the Southeastern United States.
